AGEING AND CEREBROVASCULAR

With gradual ageing of populations, understanding how to maintain functional ability in older people is a priority. The Ageing and Cerebrovascular Group is an interdisciplinary research group focused on the identification of sociodemographic, economic, and clinical predictors of healthy aging in the community and outcomes of older people with cerebrovascular diseases from stroke to silent brain small vessel disease. Our main research topics are:

• Sociodemographic, economic, and clinical factors associated with survivorship and functional recovery after stroke in the very old.
• Association between of covert brain small vessel disease with healthy ageing and frailty.
• Association between sarcopenia and global vascular risk factors with healthy aging and frailty.
