Closing remarks
Note on this named lecture: Professor Mariano Gago was one of the most influential Ministers for Science in Portugal (between 1995-2002, and 2005-2011). He was originally from Algarve and his work was a major driver to set the foundations for the current scientific culture of Portuguese Research and Portuguese scientists around the world. He was also key for the creation of what is today FCT, the National Research Council. This lecture is held in his memory, to remind us of the importance to unravel new challenges.
