WELCOME TO MICROBIOTEC’21
NOVA University of Lisbon will host MICROBIOTEC’21 between the 23-26 November 2021.
The Microbiotec congress is a biannual event since 2005 co-organized by the Portuguese Society of Microbiology and the Portuguese Society of Biotechnology. Due to restrictions imposed in Portugal due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Organizing Committee and the Societies decided to promote MICROBIOTEC’21 in a virtual online format.
MICROBIOTEC’21 will be an innovative and enthusiastic international scientific forum to promote knowledge and discussion among researchers from academia and industry.
We hope to provide an open platform to share knowledge, ideas, and scientific policy and regulatory issues associated with Microbiology and Biotechnology. The debate will also be focused on the contribution of Microbiology and Biotechnology to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the societal challenges in close connection with health, industry, technology, environment, food safety and microbiological heritage.
In its 9th edition, the joint congress of the Portuguese Society of Microbiology and the Portuguese Society of Biotechnology, aims once more to create a forum of discussion and platform of collaboration of national and international researchers and relevant stakeholders in areas as diverse as Industrial and Food Microbiology and Biotechnology; Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology; Health Microbiology and Biotechnology; Molecular Microbiology and Microbial Physiology; Bioprocess Engineering; Cellular Microbiology and Pathogenesis; Genomics and Systems Biology and Emergent technologies.
The scientific program will consist of plenary lectures, keynote lectures, oral communications and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts.
Debate, exchange of ideas and information and networking will be keywords of this 4-afternoons event focused on the frontiers and new challenges of biotechnology and microbiology research.
